Reim Plan
Reim Plan – Socializing Groups for Children and Youth with Communication Impairments and Complex Learning Disabilities
The nonprofit association, “Yadid LaYeled”, takes a role in advancing at-risk youth, and lends support to programs that bring about change and provide a supportive environment for children. All of the above is done in cooperation with the community center.
“Reim” Program provides for a supportive group framework for participants with communication disorders, social anxiety, and learning disabilities who feel social loneliness. The group expands the participants’ social network, instills social skills, provides leisure time activities, and creates positive social experiences.
The group inspires a feeling of belonging and helps the participants to acquire the connections and skills for an active, independent and social lifestyle. The group meets every Sunday at the community center, for social and experiential activities as well as recreation time. In addition, countrywide events take place that allow for meetings with other groups throughout the country. This will expand the participants’ social circle. Groups that are currently active: Grades 6-8, and 9-13.
The program is run by a facilitator with a BA in Special Education and Integrated Education, who specializes in Individual and Group work with children and youth.
