Our new project for Autistic children began in 2007.
These children suffer from serious communication difficulties with their surroundings. While they learn in mainstream schools they are highly intelligent, excel scholastically, but they lack important and vital social skills.
In the framework of this project teenaged volunteers will accompany the child once a week to an extracurricular activity of his/her choice.
The volunteers, who will be advised by a panel of psychologists and psychiatrists ,will assist the children in getting along in social situations. The cost of this project is very high due to the high level of professionalism required.
However, any measure of success we can achieve in helping any of these special children to learn how to function in society can be said to be well worth the expense.
